Paperbag Albums

I love to use practical items in my scrapbooking/cardmaking and what better base then a paperbag!!!  "Read More" to see instructions for a book I made for one of my sisters.

1.  Take (4) paperbags and fold them in half. (see illustration A)

2.  Place the paperbags into a “t” shape.  You can do this two ways - have four open pockets put the ends together or 1, 2 or 3 pockets you choose your design. (see illustration B)

3.  Sew a square through all the paperbags.  (see illustration C)  You can glue them together but I found that sewing holds the book together better.

4.  Time to embellish.  I glue patterned cardstock on each side and embellish.  I also cut pieces of cardstock to go into the pockets.

5.  I close the book by tying the book together with ribbon or fiber.  You can also use Velcro to close the book as well.

Wow! I've done paper bag albums using the traditional binding methos - opened like a book - but this is a great idea! Going to have to try this, too!
